Dice roll system Empty Dice roll system

Post  Diaveras Sun May 15, 2011 6:25 pm

I have tested the dice roll system myself. Dice rolls cannot be made in the first post of each topic but can be made in every reply post. Dice rolls will be an important way to determine what occurs after a post, whether or not an attack hits or misses, whether or not a tactic succeeds or fails, etc. Here are the rules when using dice.

1. Dice roll results will appear in a separate post from the one the roll was taken with.
Ex. Post 1: Player one roles die. Post 2: Player one has rolled die. Result: "5"
It seems that the result post is automatically registered to the roller. Posts that have been modified do say that they have been modified. So if any post that displays the result of a dice roll says that it has been modified the roll will be invalidated and a new roll must be made by a third party that is trusted to perform these re-rolls.

2. Users trusted to perform re-rolls must be approved by administrators.

3. Multiple die exist in the dice roll options. Each one will be used for different situations where they will be needed.

4. Do not delete dice roll result posts. You might think you can outsmart the authorities of the site by deleting dice roll and reposting it but we can see when a post is deleted and who deleted the post and we will remove your posting privileges the moment we see a fraud in results like this.

Standard Dice: Used in conflict topics between two members. The roll is taken to determine who has the advantage in the next post. Even rolls, the person who started the topic has the advantage. Odd rolls, the opposing member has the advantage.
Ex. Player A: Started the topic and gets advantages with even rolls. Player B: opponent who gets advantages from odd rolls.
Post 1: Player A's fleet launches a large missile at Player B's flagship. Dice is rolled result is: 3
Post 2: Player B's flagship is not hit but at the cost of a starship that moved into the missile's path the flagship returns fire. Dice is rolled result is: 6
Post 3: Player A's fleet takes a few hits but nothing more than mere scorch marks on the hull and returns fire. Dice is rolled the result is: 2
Post 4: Player B's fleet starts losing ships but persists by firing the weapons of the dreadnoughts.
And so on.

multi-player dice: This will determine who gets advantages same as the standard dice. Dice can be made to have any number of sides so if there is a three way conflict use the three sided die, if there is a four way conflict use a four sided die and so on. If a new die is required contact Diaveras and tell him how many sides are needed on the new dice.

Dice rolls are excluded from story conflicts that are predetermined.

Dice roll system Empty Planet destroying technology

Planet busters: Now it is unfair for planet busters to automatically work when used. Planet busters without limitations like this are story weapons and not free use so do not complain. Now a successful planet buster use will depend on a roll of three dice. If the sum of those dice is 12 or less than it was a failure. Any higher and it is a success. This means there is a 1/3 chance of it working.
